October - Remembering Vietnam Charity Trip by Peace Network
When planning for the final months of 2023, we suddenly realized there were several significant events that you might have overlooked, such as World Habitat Day on October 3rd, International Day for Disaster Reduction on October 13th, and International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17th. In Vietnam, volunteers introduced to us that October 10th, 1954, was the day of the liberation of the capital city, Hanoi. These pieces of information made us more excited about our trip to Vietnam, a memory that we will probably never forget.
We want to document the entire charitable trip through a video attached to the post, where you can see the whole story of that day; everything was amazing. The charitable trip was planned successfully and executed smoothly. Part of the campaign's success was due to the enthusiastic support from all parties involved. We received a warm welcome from the local government and the spirit of the knowledgeable volunteers about Vietnam and the situation of those in need.
We collaborated with the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, an official organization representing the interests of the people. We received gratitude from the local authorities, which we considered a reward. It's not about fame, but we believe it's an activity that can influence other organizations to help those in need.
Unlike other trips, we were able to use a facility provided by the local government for charitable purposes (as can be seen in the video). The government and the volunteers helped us assist various beneficiaries, including the victims of Agent Orange, orphaned children, children with HIV, disabled individuals, and poor elderly people.
Many people attended the charity event, and we hope we were able to help them. However, there are still many individuals with mobility issues who have not received assistance. We don't have enough resources to help them, so we handed over this task to the government. Through these charitable activities, we aim to bring hope and support to those affected by the lasting consequences of war. Our goal is to contribute to the healing process and assist in rebuilding lives that have been scarred by past conflicts.
By choosing Vietnam, we recognize the importance of acknowledging the enduring aftermath of war and making continuous efforts to promote peace and reconciliation. Our mission is to stand with those affected, lend a helping hand, and spread the message of compassion and unity. Together, we can strive for a brighter future, where the wounds of war are gradually healed, and the seeds of peace are nurtured. Remember that the journey to long-lasting peace requires unity and commitment in addressing the remaining consequences of conflicts.
